The sessions are relational and experiential and not all that easy to put into words. Opening to feeling and vulnerability together with another person can give access to greater depth and movement within. Dialogue is essential for understanding and healing to take place.
If we carry experiences of trauma, it can take time for the frozen parts to begin to melt. Warmth, safety and the absence of pressure are crucial for that to happen. Thawing cannot be forced.
Whatever begins to move may feel both frightening and deeply alive at the same time. Change often begins when something can be named a little bit more clearly, and when we feel a little less alone.
